Adding touches to our new home

Much warmer today, but because of needing the car tomorrow for the Briar Rose handover, we still haven’t left the boat yard. However, we have been busy, doing things to make the boat more like home — including putting up pictures that we brought from our house.

We’ve used Command Strips to fix all the pictures to the walls, which are supposed to be a damage-free way of hanging them. We’ve used all the ones we bought, so we’ll need to get some more.

This morning I did some baking, firstly to try out the oven more and secondly to provide the guys here with a treat for their afternoon break. I made raspberry crumble bars, and they turned out pretty well.

We also went out for a walk, doing the loop I did yesterday in reverse — but adding a little bit on so we could see Middlewood Station. The old railway line used to have a station called Middlewood Higher, and the one that’s still in use is below it in the valley.

Tomorrow will be a significant day, as we say farewell to Briar Rose.
