Back to the marina, then off to Cambridge

We set off after breakfast to do the mile back to the marina, in nice sunny conditions with very little breeze which makes getting into our space a bit easier.

Once secured and plugged in, we packed a bag, got in the car, and headed south towards Cambridge. We broke the journey at Mercia Marina for lunch, where we found a load of building work, and that the Williow Tree tea room has moved to a new building round the corner.

While it’s nice enough, the new building doesn’t have the character of the old one. We also popped in to Midland Chandler’s and bought a couple of tools for opening the diesel and water filler caps. Then it was on to Cambridge. We arrived about 3.30, checked in to our hotel, and immediately walked into town to see the sights, like Mathematical Bridge.

We found the Corpus Clock quite mesmerising, especially the way the minute light dashes round the dial with the second one. It would have been good to see the top of the hour.

We had an early dinner and headed back to the hotel. We’re only here to break the journey further south, as we have a big puppy-related day tomorrow.
