Battered

It was pretty windy overnight but by mid morning the gusts were far stronger and have stayed that way all day. We’ve been bobbed up and down by the waves on the canal, and bashed against the side by the wind. Two or three boats went by first thing but no-one looked as though they were enjoying the experience.

There was. Bit of excitement on the towpath outside the boat this morning. I saw some police officers walking up and down, and realised they had Greater Manchester Police on their vests. We’re still in Cheshire here, although Greater Manchester is only half a mile away. Donna at Braidbar could see they were patting someone down in the car park near our boat, and their van was on Braidbar’s drive. They ended up taking away some stuff in an evidence bag.

Later on, Dave, one of the carpenters came to fit our food waste caddy inside the door of a galley cabinet, next to the main bin. It lifts off so you can have it on the worktop while cooking.

With the wind still howling, we wouldn’t be going anywhere today which means we’ll need an early start tomorrow. I’ve made some cookies for Braidbar, as this is probably the last time we’ll be here, and a tomato sauce for tonight’s dinner. I also had a nap, as having a puppy is exhausting! If it’s not raining when he has his next sleep, I might pop out for a quick walk. For his part, Macc likes nothing better than playing with a cardboard box — by which I mean ripping it to pieces.
