Start of spring

I should really have kept yesterday’s photo of the daffodils until today, St David’s Day; but the crocuses are much better today than they were then.

We have started a new routine with Macc today. For the first week we had him, we took him out for a loo break at 11pm, and then got up to take him out again at 5am; he’d then go back to sleep until gone 7.30. As he was normally still asleep at 5, last week we started moving the event a bit later. The trouble was that if we got him up at 6, he would then be wide awake and wouldn’t go back to sleep again. So today we both got up at 6.30, took him out, and gave him his breakfast about 7. Then by the time we’d each been for a shower and were ready for our breakfast, he was sleepy enough to go for the first nap of the day. Macc tried the licki mat for the first time at breakfast time, with some banana and blueberry pushed into it. It seemed to be a success.

We were running perilously close to running out of wine, so Adrian made a run to Aldi in Poynton and bought almost all of their stock of a South African Sauvignon Blanc they do which is only £5.99 a bottle. He then had to find somewhere to store than many bottles! Macc was asleep on my lap by the time he got back. After lunch Macc had some more training; after just one day he reliably offers his paw when asked.

In Macc’s afternoon nap, Adrian did some of his charity admin and I went for a walk. I’ve really missed walking the past couple of weeks but there just hasn’t been time, so I really enjoyed stretching my legs especially as it was a nice sunny day (although still rather breezy).

We have a big day coming up tomorrow, when we become proper continuous cruisers again.
