We paid another visit to Braidbar today to see progress — and there’s been plenty. Perhaps the biggest change is that the engine room now has an engine in it. It’s a Beta 43, and you can see the Hybrid Marine electric motor on the far end.
There’s also the framework around the engine which will hold the engine boards, and (unlike the current boat) all the side pieces remove to make getting at the engine for servicing, much easier.
The other big change is that the galley units have been built. We’re having pretty much the same shape as in Briar Rose, but all the appliances will be moving and we’ll have a different arrangement of drawers and cupboards.
In the shower room, the airing cupboard now has a calorifier installed.
We made a few other decisions, and just clarified one or two things. So all in all, things are progressing well.
