With nothing particularly planned for today we were in no rush to get up, but once we did we got some washing on and went for a walk while the dryer did its thing. We went north on Middlewood Way, where there had been a frost. We walked to beyond Higher Poynton and took the track up through the woods to the canal towpath, which was busy with people out for a Boxing Day walk. The Trading Post was open and doing a roaring trade.

We had the sun in our eyes virtually the whole way, but the wind was at least behind us coming this way.

After lunch, I made a small batch of pastry, and Adrian gave me a hair cut. We’ve been invited round to our neighbours for a drink a little later, which will be nice.
