Storm Bram has been making itself felt throughout the day. In fact it started last night with heavy rain drumming on the roof, and by this morning the wind had got up and we were being bashed about. We were due a visit from Mike Carter to do a BSS exam, and while we waited I got some steps in up and down the towpath as it wasn’t actually raining.

Mike arrived about 9.30 and checked all kinds of things. As you’d expect from a brand new boat, he was impressed by how neat the installation was. For the rest of the morning, I made mince pies with a batch of pastry I made yesterday afternoon, while outside it frequently chucked it down.
After lunch we headed out for a walk while it wasn’t raining, going up the towpath then down a path through some woods to Middlewood Way. It’s in a cutting so was a bit more sheltered from the strong winds, although the ditches and culverts were really flowing well.

We called into the yard to take some mince pies and ask a couple more questions about things. The wind finally seems to have dropped a bit, so hopefully it will be slightly quieter from now on.

Your famous mince pies! I bet your ex colleagues at Radio2 missed those 🥧 😋
Adam, I was only thinking about you and those mince pies the other.
So glad you are able to continue to create and share them xx
