Tim Tyler has started building the shell of Kingley Vale, and has sent some photos showing the progress so far. It’s extraordinary how much work has been done in just a few days.

We’ll be going up to Stoke next week to see the shell for ourselves.

Remarkable to see the very early stages; hope someone will keep a montage of every stage.
When the fitout starts, try to get as many photos as you can when the cables and pipes etc. that will be behind the walls are being fitted and still visible as the walls etc. are being fitted. Sometime in the future, when maintenance is required, it will be extremely useful to know exactly where things are and not just approximately.
At that stage you will be starting to imagine where everything is going to be, and minor adjustments to things like position of lights or switches might still be possible.
That stage is surprisingly quick, taking only a couple of days, and I regret we missed it with our build as I thought it would take longer and it had finished with everything hidden by the day we got there. If I had realised I would have made at least two visits a few days earlier. Now we have to guess where cables run when doing maintenance. The selection of photos from our builder never showed the right bit so make sure you photograph everything at that stage, before it gets hidden.
