Batteries installed

More photos from Braidbar today, and the major development is that the battery bank has been installed.

Normally the big battery bank for a Hybrid Marine system would go across the back of the boat, but while that works for a semi-trad it doesn’t work for a trad. And as we didn’t want to lose the bottom half of our wardrobe, the batteries are under the bed. They’re also a different shape from normal (usually they’re tall and thin), and the entire bunk is bigger as a result — we have two banks of 500Ah at 48 volts. They are lead acid, because LiFePo4 lithiums were too expensive, and Hybrid Marine prefers lead acid anyway. They are vented to the outside for gassing, and have a watering system to top them up.

In other news, the drawers have been made for the galley drawer pack.
