We’ve been down south seeing Adrian’s family for a few days, which has been lovely. We stayed with his aunt and uncle in Kent, and saw his cousin and her family. One of the cats likes to get as close as possible to your face.

Then yesterday we stopped off at Helen and Andy’s for the night. Again we had a very convivial evening. This morning we had to scrape the car before we could set off because the frost was so heavy.
We stopped in Poynton on the way back so Adrian could pick up an order from the Waitrose there. Back at the marina, there was ice floating on the water, so it had clearly been frozen earlier.

After lunch I went for a walk to complete my steps. This time I headed north on the towpath and then took the steps down by the aqueduct onto the lane, which I haven’t done before.

I came back via Middlewood Way. Since we’ve been back, we’ve got the Refleks stove going to warm up the boat, and we’ve done a load of washing. It remains to be seen whether we’ll stay up to see the new year in — but Happy New Year to everyone!

Happy New Year both of you. I look forward to reading of your travels in 2026.
Happy New Year to you both. Wishing you a good road in 2026.
Happy New Year to you both.
