Back onto the Macc

Macc was up a bit early again this morning, but he went back to bed and we didn’t hear from him again until after 7. When it was our turn for breakfast we had scrambled eggs for a change, as we had some eggs that needed using up. We set off about 9, in some light drizzle which fortunately never really came to anything. It was less than a mile to the junction where we turned off the Peak Forest back onto the Macc. We stopped t the water point to fill up and deal with the rubbish and the yellow water bottle. One of the houses alongside the service point has some wellies outside their gate.

It wasn’t the quickest tap but then the tank wasn’t that empty either, so we were soon on our way again. As we went under Bridge 5, a tractor carrying some manure went over.

We were only going as far as the piling between Bridges 8 and 9, so we were moored up by about 11. Originally we were due to be down in Macclesfield for tomorrow for a puppy class, but it turned out Macc was the only puppy booked in so it’s not happening. It means we’re moving even slower than we would have been!

This afternoon, Macc has been resisting sleep, I’ve been quite fancying having a sleep, and Adrian has been doing some of his charity stuff. We’ve also had the engine on for an hour or so to charge the batteries, not least because we have a chicken to roast this evening.

Also, I keep forgetting to say that The Water Road podcast is back for a second series. The link for episode 1 of this series is here.
