First real trip: Day 32

A really beautiful sunny morning, and when Macc went out for his early toilet visit he went back into his crate so we could all have a lie in. Our two neighbouring boats left before we were up. Later, while Macc was supposed to be asleep, I went for a walk down the towpath towards Kidderminster, over the next bridge, and back through the park. There’s a big lake there, called Stack Pools, I assume because of the chimney on its banks.

We decided to have lunch out, and walked back to Wolverley lock to the Old Smithy Cafe. Macc came too, and we took his lunch with us. They must have had a busy couple of days, because they had run out of bacon, tomatoes, and white bread, so we had to have a ham and cheese toastie on brown.

This afternoon, Adrian went to do the same walk I did this morning. He’s also given me a haircut, and we took Macc along to the embankment where we had a fantastic time running about on the long lead, including up and down the banks. Then I went along the canal to where there’s a mass of wild garlic growing on the banks of the Stour. I’ve used some to stuff the chicken that’s in the oven roasting, while the rest I’ll probably make wild garlic butter with.
