Loads of rain yesterday evening and overnight, but today has been pretty good again — mostly sunny and warm enough. Adrian went to Waitrose for shopping, and when he got back I went to do more podcast recordings. One of the stands is a model boat club, and they had a couple of their boats on the canal, including a little fishing boat.

The swans were also about, and didn’t much like the little boats. As I headed back, Helen was having her photo taken by someone covering the festival for a local paper.

At lunchtime the judges for the visiting boats came round. We had no chance in the best decorated or best dressed person, but were surely in with a shout for the greatest distance travelled to the festival. The presentations were made at 3.30, and we won! Apparently there will be a certificate available tomorrow.
Also this afternoon I’ve done prep for this evening’s roast as Andy and Helen are coming round. Dessert has also been made. A few boats have arrived in the basin to replace the ones that left, quite a few of them heading off before 8 this morning.
