We’d arrived in Lechlade a day ahead of schedule and we had various things to do here so decided to stay for a second night. Adrian walked into town this morning to pick up a post restante parcel from the Post Office. He then used the box it came it to package up our eco fan to send to Calfire for a service. The blades continually work loose and make a noise — and we can’t remember if this one has ever been serviced. The heat wave is definitely over, and we didn’t even roll the cratch cover up until after lunch. Macc still finds a way to keep an eye on what’s going on though.

We’ve had several walks round the Riverside Park just beyond the bridge, and after lunch a Hercules was doing circuits from Fairford so went over a few times.

Just by the bridge there’s a place where Macc can easily get to the river, and for some reason he likes to lay down in the water to have a drink.

From down here you can see the lower part of the old toll booth on the bridge. From up on the road, only the top floor is visible.

I took the parcel to the Post Office this afternoon, and then did a bit more shopping to keep us going for a few days. The butcher, Culter and Cashin, was open today, so I got a couple of turkey and ham pies, and some pork, mushroom, and Stilton sausages. The man came round for £5 mooring fee at about 7 last night, so he’ll undoubtedly do the same this evening.
