We were up and out in the car in good time this morning, and driving up to Braidbar to see how work was getting on. The shell now has a floor and battens, and lots of holes have been cut for things such as vents, shoreline, sink waste, shower pump, and mushroom vents.

The next thing to happen will be spray foam insulation, and then that will all have to be cut back.
Also visiting today, sign writing the boat that currently in the paint shed, was Andy Russell, sign writer extraordinaire, so we were able to have a chat about what he might do for Kingley Vale, and about colours in general. We think we now have a good idea what we want, but the Braidbar painter, Johnnie, also had some suggestions that have made us think.
Next stop was an upholsterer in Macclesfield, who makes the cushions for the dinette etc. We have asked for samples of several fabrics, but we’re not sure we’ve found the one yet. Then we went to the worktop supplier just up the road. We’d already seen a sample of a quartz we liked, but they had a huge piece in their yard for us to see. We loved it, so that’s a decision made. We’d also earlier decided on the shower board, which is a similar texture, just a different tone.

We feel as though we’ve made some good decisions today.
