On the bottom

We made a visit to Braidbar today, unsure as to what we’d fine as the water levels on the Macclesfield Canal are way down. Our boat was sitting on the bottom at the stern, but not as grounded as the one in the paint dock, which is completely aground. It means that boat can’t come out, and ours can’t go in — which will cause a delay. Levels will probably go down even more, because Braidbar is in between the ‘safe haven’ pounds CRT are creating, where they’ll attempt to keep levels up.

Fitout continues though, and we now have a framework and covers over the engine.

We spent quite a bit of time talking about the batteries, which we’ve had photos of but not seen in real life before. In the galley, we now have drawers.

We’re told the floor will probably go in next week, and then the appliances can be fitted. This all assumes the boat stays fairly level, because if it’s at too much of an angle, it’ll be difficult to work in.
