Another lovely sunny day, and at about 10am I set off to walk back to near Lyme View Marina for an interview for a future podcast. I’ve been trying to set this up for about two months, and I finally got hold of the person on Monday and arranged to meet him this morning. The walk took about 45 minutes, and it was lovely in the sunshine first up the canal and then onto Middlewood Way.

On the way back I called into Cafe Waterside at Clarence Mill and got us a couple of toasted sandwiches to take back to the boat. While I’d been out, Adrian and Macc had sat out on the well deck in the sunshine, but then Macc refused to down for a nap. In the end he gave up just before 1, which meant he didn’t have his lunch until 3. So much for keeping puppies on a schedule. At least it meant he was asleep while I did an online interview for a different episode of the pod. I have three episodes in production at the moment, which is approximately two too many in one respect, but good in another. It’s been warm enough to have one of the side hatches open on the water side, the one over the galley.

Once Macc had had his lunch it was my turn to sit out on the well deck with him. He seems to enjoy watching what’s going on, and quite a few people come and make a fuss of him so he’s not short of socialisation. He’s now gone for another sleep as we have a big evening ahead: we’re taking him to Cal’s puppy class at her training centre here in Bollington. There will be another podcast interview happening there too. Then (great excitement) tomorrow we’ll start properly heading south.
