Another gloriously sunny day, although a bit chilly to start and the sun doesn’t get round to the moorings until a bit later. Macc’s walks here take ages, because it seems as though every dog in Worcester comes to the riverside park, and he wants to speak to all of them. After breakfast, Adrian walked into town to pick up some things from the Post Office — the first time we’ve used the Post Restante service where they’ll hold mail for you to collect. It all worked well, so that’s another liveaboard rite of passage passed! He also went to a jeweller to see about getting his wedding ring made smaller, and met Helen for a coffee at the Cafe Boat. Meanwhile I took Macc for another walk and chatted to Andy.
The Tidys were booked to go up the locks to the basin at 2. The pump that brings water from the river to the basin has failed, so CRT are offering passages at two times in the day to preserve water. There was a bit of a wait for the lock keeper who’d been seeing someone through the other end of the restricted section, but then Briar Rose went into the big bottom lock and up.

The pound between the two locks was a little low but not too bad, and the top lock takes ages to fill. Then BR turned into the marina and I went back to our boat. Then it was my turn to go for a walk, taking the riverside path up past the Cathedral to St Andrew’s Spire and then a look round the city centre.

These are lovely moorings on the river, and while it was nice having the Tidys alongside, it’s also nice to have a view from the galley side doors and a bit more light coming in!
