First real trip: Day 27

As it’s such a nice spot here we decided to have a day off from moving. When Macc shouted that he needed to go out at 6.30, Adrian took him and then put him back in his crate so we could have a lie in. It’s a long time since we got up after 8am! When I took Macc for his first walk of the day, we went to the bridge over the River Stour that Adrian used yesterday to get to the Co-op.

In the middle of the morning, Adrian wanted to go for a walk so I stayed behind with Macc. He walked back to the junction and across the playing fields and found some more shops including a Sainsbury’s local. They’re in the Wordsley Green area of Stourbridge rather than the town centre. I wrote an article and did some chores. As I did the washing up, I mused on the fact that the other day we were moored next to the workings of the new Midland Metro extension, and just a couple of days later have a view of a publicly accessible field where horses roam freely.

For my walk in the afternoon, I walked along the towpath towards Stourton and took a path from the second bridge. This took me up a hill and past a pet crematorium, of all things.

Then the path came into the field opposite where we were moored. When Macc had woken up from another nap, we took him over to the field to have a run about. He was very wary of the horses, but we were taking him well away from them anyway. He chased his ball, tried to pick up a huge stick, and walked along a fallen tree.

The drizzle appears to have set now, so we timed our walks pretty well.
