Nantwich has become one of our favourite places, so it’s never a chore to spend some time here. And because we now know where a lot of things are, we can get stuff done. The embankment looked lovely in the early morning light when I took Macc out for his first proper walk. The moon was still in the sky.

We walked up to Bridge 93 where there’s a footpath that goes off over a field, so he could have a run off the lead. He managed to find one of his trademark long sticks to drag about.

With all the problems on the Llangollen at the moment, lots of the Wrenbury Mill hire boats have been moved to Nantwich, and they’re all moored along the mainline.

After breakfast I walked into town for a visit to Morrison’s. We had quite a list, but you can only buy so much when the walk back is this long. Later Adrian went in, as he had a haircut appointment; the lady he goes to here is pretty good, and she could tell that he’d had some less than successful cuts since we were last here! Adrian also got some savoury slices from Chatwin’s bakery on the way back, for our lunch. Then after Macc’s early afternoon walk, I went into town again, this time for Aldi wine which somehow never seems to last very long. Also this afternoon we’ve sorted out car insurance, ready for our new arrival, and various appointments have been added to the diary. It’s been a nice sunny day, and quite warm at times.
