Pooch Paddock

Another very foggy day, and we spent the morning doing boat jobs and generally pottering. After lunch we drove into Chester to pick up some printing from Ryman’s, and then popped in to see my dad. But the main event was an hour at the Pooch Paddock just outside Christleton, where Macc could meet my sister’s black Lab, Islay. My sister and nieces were already there when we arrived, and from the moment the dogs got together, they were chasing each other round the field.

It’s a decent sized L-shaped field with some things for the dogs to play on. But mostly Macc just wanted to follow Islay around; he didn’t really ever calm down! They need to get to know each other, because my sister has said she’ll have Macc while we go skiing next year (although we haven’t told him yet!)

We had booked an hour, and by the end of that both dogs were pretty exhausted although still not willing to stop! The field is on a farm which has a cabin with drinks vending machines, as well as other machines for ice cream and their own meat. We came away with a tub of Snugbury’s ice cream. Right by the car park was a pen of interesting looking sheep.

Not surprisingly, since we got home Macc has gone to sleep, and we suspect he may be down for a while!
