It was actually quite chilly this morning, which came as a bit of a shock. When I took Macc for his morning walk, we went to St Mary’s Churchyard. It was converted into a public park in 1881, and some of the headstones were put along the wall on the western side.

Only a few graves remain, but one that does is that of Sarah Siddons, a renowned actress in the eighteenth century. The original railings have been protected with a modern cage.

Apparently some of the park was lost when the A40 flyover was built, and there’s a mass grave for the remains that were moved. At the far end is the Little Venice Sports Centre, which is a rather unusual building.

Our final family visit of the week was Adrian’s brother, Ian, who came up on the train from Weymouth. Adrian went to meet him at Waterloo, and then he came to see the boat and meet Macc.

I had some interviews to do for a podcast at 12.30, and when they were done Adrian and Ian went off to the pub for lunch while I stayed back with Macc. When it was time for Ian to head back, Adrian took him to see Little Venice and they got the tube from Warwick Avenue. During the afternoon it’s really warmed up and the sun has come out.
